Fabulous new BBC Online Art Resource

The new BBC online art resource "Your Paintings" is a treasure trove for all people interested in art and artists. This new project is something we should all add to our favourites when searching for information and inspiration during our classes. Click on the image below to go directly to the new site. Black charcoal pastel and white chalk on black card

We liked this approach so much that we gave it another go this week. Yet again the results were fantastic, spontaneous, creative, and very painterly. And in many cases incredibly accurate observation skills were also achieved:

Here we used the edge of a small piece of cardboard dipped into black acrylic paint to create the contours of the reclining figure, resulting in some very creative and modern, semi abstract results:

White chalk and black charcoal on black paper

Life studies using a revers process for highlights and darks using white chalk on black cartridge paper (A3) then modified by soft black charcoal sticks. These are remarkable and very fast results from everyone in class. Fantastic learning has been made in only 9 weeks:
